第271篇 再谈更新和察验

  在我写的《更新和察验》一文中,认为和合本的罗马书12:2的译文中的一句话:“察验何为上帝的善良、纯全、可喜悦的旨意”译的有些不妥。提出了和合本修订版、新译本、吕振中译本、思高本的四种译文进行对照,认为应译为“察验何为上帝的旨意,何为善良、纯全、上帝所喜悦的事。”但有网友提出说圣经英语译本,都是把善良、纯全、可喜悦的当作形容词来修饰旨意的。

  我查考了七种版本的英文圣经,情况如下:

  [KJV]that ye may prove what is that good,and acceptable,and perfect,will of God.

  [NRSV]so that you may discern what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and perfect.

  [REB]Then you will be able to discern the will of God ,and to know what is good ,acceptable,and perfect.

  [NAB]that you may discern what is the will of God,what is good and pleasing and perfect.

  [NJB]so that you may discern for yourselves what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and mature.

  [TEV]Then you will be able to know the will of God--what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.

  [NIV]Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good ,pleasing and perfect will.

  我们列举了七种主要的英语译本,可以看出,除了NIV是在并列句中,用善良、纯全、可喜悦的作为形容词修饰旨意外,其他译本都是采用的并列句。

  关于心意变化而更新的问题,我上文所举的例子仅在服装、发式和政治层面的,当然不是一种全面的归纳。我愿意补充一首《今要主自己》歌,是我们信徒心意变化而更新的最好写照:(第1段)

  前要的是祝福,今要主自己;

  前要的是医治,今惟主而已;

  前我贪求恩赐,今要赐恩者;

  前我寻求能力,今要全能者。
